Agrippa’s Monument

Agrippa Monument

Agrippa’s monument is a memorial base from the Hellenic time. It is made out of blue marble from the Ymittos mountain. The statue originally put on this base, was later replaced by the Romans who put there a statue of their commander Agrippa, after whom the monument is named today.

By the way, almost every visitor to Athens knows the Ymittos mountain – if getting to Athens by plan. The airport is located east of the city and clearly separated from it by Ymittos mountain. To get to Athens, the mountain is circumscrived either south via the coast road passing Vouliagmeni, or north via Attiki Odos.
